International Photonics Conference “Baltic Photonics 2024” in Vilnius

The “Baltic Photonics 2024 Days,” held from October 14-18 in Vilnius, gathered experts in photonics, laser technologies, and related industries from the Baltic region and abroad. This event highlighted the growing role of the region, fostering collaboration among industry leaders, scientists, and researchers. Participants delved into scientific achievements and the practical applications of lasers and photonic structures in various fields, such as biotechnology and semiconductors. A notable highlight of the event was the international collaboration involving researchers from Taiwan.

Key sessions addressed the development of high-power laser systems, mid-infrared generation technologies, and their applications in telecommunications, environmental monitoring, and medical diagnostics. Discussions also focused on using advanced plasmonic structures for high-precision sensors and the achievements in ultrafast lasers. These innovations underscored the importance of photonics in driving progress in industry and science.

The strengthening collaboration between Lithuanian and Taiwanese researchers highlighted at the event opens opportunities for both countries’ researchers and industry representatives to share knowledge and advanced technologies. Such partnerships promote innovation and help Lithuania become a significant hub for global photonics technology.
